Three Journeys Round
Celebration of Round Africa
22 July - 03 October 2016
Peter Wilson travelled solo through 22 different countries to complete the journey of about 16,600nm in 73 days. The FAI now recognise Peter became the first person to fly round Africa in helicopter from London to Stellenbosch return.
He entered Africa at Oran, Algeria and exited at Cairo, Egypt.
Africa was the start journey because Africa is ‘the birth place of mankind’. Africa’s high levels of extreme poverty can be tackled through the education of women and the sustainable development of its rich cultural and physical resources.
Peter was born in Africa and had developed a passion for its heritage while living there.
